MYC 2027 Keynote Speakers

MYC 2027 features two engaging keynote speakers who will explore change, resilience, leadership, and how we respond to uncertainty. Together, they bring humour, insight, and fresh perspectives to the challenges middle years educators face every day.

Rory Gardiner:   Humour, Leadership & Change Comedian and speaker Rory Gardiner uses humour and sharp observation to challenge how leaders and organizations think about change. With a focus on leadership and organizational culture, Rory invites educators to see familiar challenges differently and consider how they can help their teams navigate change.

Dr. Caroline Buzanko Building Our Capacity to Navigate Challenges Dr. Caroline Buzanko explores how people respond when situations feel difficult, uncomfortable, uncertain, or threatening—and how we can develop the capacity to respond differently. Her work offers educators a deeper understanding of resilience, with insights into supporting students, leading teams, and navigating challenges in their own lives.

Inspiration Meets Practical Learning Our keynotes complement a broader program of 20+ additional sessions focused on practical, relevant learning for educators.

Topics include middle years reading and writing, numeracy, and reaching and teaching adolescents, along with other sessions supporting everyday classroom practice and school leadership. Join us to reflect, connect, and return to your school with fresh perspectives and practical ideas.
